What is Accredited Online University?

A student who is new to Online Universities and is willing to take an initiative to enroll in Online Degree Program. Something, he should know is the concept of Accreditation. What it’s all about and how does it works. In parallel, avoiding any involvement with non-accredited online institutes, resulting in loss of money and time.

In order to sustain excellence in education while meeting the standards, Accreditation bodies have been established in all US states to keep a quality check on institute making sure they meets the standards defined by Accredited Agencies. Every university/college must adhere these rules and regulations. Legitimate agencies inspect whether a university meets pre-defined academic standards.  If it does, they are eligible to operate and issue degrees to the students. In case it doesn’t, the accreditor does not qualify it to grant degrees.

With the presence of many legitimate accrediting agencies, there is an adequate amount of fraudulent agencies that offer “certificate of accreditation” to any university/school/college that pays their required fee.

An accreditation mill is a group that without being recognized by government or having any association with Council for Higher Education Accreditation, issue educational accreditation to educational institutes which then claim to be accredited and operate globally as an accredited institutes. This is totally fraud.
